Non GSP members have access to all public pages and public designated collections within this website. However, the majority of Online Collections may be viewed only by GSP Members. GSP always welcomes new members and if you need more information about the society, or would like to join, you can do so easily on the membership page.

1. Members have access to all public pages and the members-only portion of the site. To log in, click "Log In" at the top of the home page. The system will prompt you to enter your username and password. Your username is the username you have been using given to you from the GSP office, or you can also enter the email address tied to your membership account. Once logged in, you can edit your membership information by using the "edit" tab (which displays on the top of the login page), or you can continue to access the rest of the site by using the menu bar.
2. To change your password, click on the Edit tab at the top of the page. Type the password you would like to use in the password box, then type it again to confirm it. Your password must be at least four characters long.
3. If you've forgotten your password, click on "Log In" and then click the "Request New Password" tab at the top of the screen. Enter the email address tied to your account, and then click "Email new password". A link will be emailed to your email inbox to reset your password. If you don't receive the link at least 15 minutes after resetting it, please check your program's spam filter. If you still have not received it, please contact us at the email address above and we will reset it for you.
Searching this Site
Visitors have two options for searching the GenPa website-
SEARCHING THE WEBSITE PAGES:
Searching the website will bring back information such as society information about events, programs and workshops, genealogy news, specific Pennsylvania county information, blog entries, and posts from the GSP Bulletin Board.
SEARCHING THE ONLINE COLLECTIONS:
Search for records in the GSP digital library to find information about your ancestors. You can access these collections from the Home page or from the Online Collections page. See two examples below:
From the Home page -
From the Online Collections page -
Please note: The new GSP website employs OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. While OCR'ing documents is the best technical option available today for quickly reading and scanning text images, it remains imperfect.
If you have not found who you are looking for by using the search methods within the GSP collections, we urge you not to give up! Taking the time to browse the collections may reveal the information you are seeking.
