The records within this collection of St. Joachim burials were extracted and indexed by long-time GSP volunteer Trudy Slaven in 2005. Along with her dedication to genealogical research, Trudy was inspired to record the burials of St. Joachim's because many of her own family were buried here.

Included in the introductory material is an explanation of the background and history of St. Joachim Catholic parish, which is located at Church and Griscom Sts. in the Frankford neighborhood of Philadelphia. Trudy extracted records of burials from four separate sources:

Death Register, 1860 - 1910

2. Church Records, 1853 - 1856

3. Newspaper death notices

4. Tombstone inscriptions

Trudy noted that "Not all deaths and burials were recorded."
