Courtship in Cameron County

Harry and Maude were married on 12 January 1910 in Emporium, Cameron County. Maude's father, Charles M. Thomas, was a pioneer lumberman in Cameron Co., and Harry was a chemist (Pennsylvania State College, class of 1903) and plant manager working in the wood chemical industry.

H. Clyde Thomas, b. 16 June 1891 in Emporium (brother of Maude Thomas German). Clyde went to Canada early during WWI and enlisted in the flying corps. Photo is of Clyde in France as part of the Black Cat Squadron. Clyde was shot down and gassed and recovered in an English hospital where he met his future wife, Marguerite Thackray.
