The Centre County Genealogical Society Presents:
"Pennsylvania Death Indices: Tips on How to Use this NEW Resource"
With: Judy Heald
Death certificates can be very useful to genealogists, not only for death information,
but as clues to many other pieces of our puzzles. Pennsylvania finally has a new law which
makes obtaining death certificates a bit easier! Signed into law December 15, 2011 and into effect Feb 13, 2012, Senate Bill 361 makes available on-line indices to PA deaths between 1906 and 1961.
Not particularly user friendly, but very useful if you can use it, this presentation should help you over some of the hurdles.
(The presenter has located and ordered 27 death certificates for ancestors on this site since the release.)
