North Hills Genealogical Society tours the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation

Nov 05, 2013

Join NGHS as they tour the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation for their December Social. Meet at 10:00 am for a guided tour of the Heritage Museum located in the former P&LE freight station. Their current display is "Steelers Model Railroad Exhibit - Trains, Trains, Trains!" and a tour of Fort McIntosh, weather permitting. In 1784, Congress passed a resolution establishing a regiment of troops to fill the need for a peacetime army. The modern Third Infantry Regiment -"The Old Guard" - is now the current Presidential Honor Guard. Some who currently serve are direct descendants of the first regiment that had its first duty post at Fort McIntosh in 1784-85. They will also be near the NEW location of the Beaver County Genealogy and Historical Society for those who would like to see their collection of films and other resources.

Email info@NorthHillsGenealogists.org for more information and to sign up for the tour.
