JewishGen.org is the go-to website for starting Jewish genealogy research. Not researching Jewish ancestors? You'll find a wealth of resources and educational links that you can apply to general European research, particularly the task of locating a village or town of origin. This guided tour will review basic navigation and search techniques, explore some of the research helps available, and review content of the various databases.

Debbie Kapp is a professional genealogist with fifteen years of research experience. She is on the board of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, and several other local genealogy organizations, as well as being a volunteer indexer for free online database projects.
