In their blog post of 31 December FamilySearch annouced two new enhancements to the most recent version of their online Family History Library Catalog (FHLC). You can read the complete post on the FamilySearch Blog Page, but in essence they have added oomph to a researchers ability to quickly locate records within the catalog, in the correct locations, as the previous catalog did.
Getting comfortable using the FHLC doesn't take long, and learning how to search the catalog, and also making the effort to use a local Family History Center near you, will undoubtedly benefit your research somewhere along the line. This is true especially as most of us eventually end up needing to do international research at some point, whether it be in Ireland, Italy, Poland or Argentina.
Click on this FHLC Link to go directly to the catalog search page. A tip:
Dont search "Potter County, Pennsylvania," search "Pennsylvania, Potter" (no 'county' needed) as a list of cities, townships, etc. will appear - THIS is one of the enhancements.
