Mahanoy Area Historical Society Berryman

The Mahanoy Area Historical Society was the recipient of a large personal collection of documents from a private donor, Mrs. W.A. Berryman.  The collection focuses on county, church, burial, wills, family histories and orphan’s court records from Pennsylvania.

An extensive collection compiled by Mrs. Walter A Berryman (Doris Fritz Berryman) and donated to the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania by the Mahanoy Area Historical Society.  We have just begun documentation of the collection and the scanning.  The collection includes resources and data from Pennsylvania Counties, some only 1 or 2 pages and others 100’s of pages.  The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania thanks Mahanoy Area Historical Society for its generous contribution and making it available to our members.

SCANNED  – Scanning is not a perfect system and you would still want to “Browse” the files.  Many were hand written or typed on typewriter’s with worn out ribbons, etc.
