Learn techniques to find Eastern European birth, marriage, and death records. This presentation will focus on the former Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires, with an emphasis on modern Poland and Ukraine with some examples from Czechia, but the principles are generally applicable to other places.
About the speaker:
Justin K. Houser is an attorney in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. A native of Centre County, Pennsylvania, he has been interested in genealogical and historical research from his childhood. He has been active in, and has held office in, numerous local genealogical and historical societies. Presently he serves as the President of the Clinton County (PA) Genealogical Society and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ukrainian History and Education Center in Somerset, NJ, where he is an active member of the Center’s Nashi Predky – Our Ancestors Family History Group. Justin regularly presents on genealogical and historical topics.
