GSP has, as a membership benefit, the complete 16-book collection of John T. Humphrey’s “Pennsylvania Births books.” These books were compiled by the late noted Pennsylvania genealogist John T. Humphrey from church records throughout eastern and south central Pennsylvania. Humphrey gave copyright to the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania.

Next to each record you will find a number that corresponds with the name of the church or minister. The list that identifies which church or which minister is found in the Title and Preface file for that specific county.
Humphrey used modern county boundaries when compiling the records. For example, parts of current Montgomery County were part of Philadelphia County prior to 1784, but Humphrey included records from these areas in the Montgomery County volume. Review the history of your county and also review records from adjoining and nearby counties.
